The vet who gave me Metacam for Ginger actually marked, with a pen, where to fill the syringe it comes with to.  It is a very small amount, and it was below the markings for dogs, I think. But that is an easier way to do it, if your vet will mark it.

Since the Metacam is only labelled for dogs, the dosing syringe that comes with it doesn't show small enough amounts for cats. What you have to do, is get your vet to give you a 1 cc syringe that the end will fit INTO the end of the syringe the Metacam comes with. Pull up 10 lbs worth in the big syringe, then stick the 1 cc syringe INTO the end of that one, and push/pull it from the big one, into the small one, until you get .20 CC in the small syringe. That was for Bones, when she only weighed 5 pounds, you might want to do more, according to weight, but the cat dosage is .20 CC per 5LBS body weight. You only give it once every 3 days, it has a controlled release.
