Hi Brenda!
Yes, I know that Sophie has a lot of dear friends on this list!  I hadn't posted any updates on her recently because she is pretty stable now but maybe I should have.  She is a little dear and enjoying life to the fullest, padding around, very loving and playing and "taking care of her own business" for the most part, now.  Some of her stools look like boomerangs but still, she gets them out, usually!  I should post to the tortie list, too, as they were very interested in her, also.

Thanks for the info on stomatitis.  I have used all but metronidazole.  I have used aloe vera before but not the brand you mentioned.  Did you use all of these together, I take it?  Jimi has to have his meds in his food, which is a problem, he freaks out totally if I try to syringe meds into him and hides for days.  So you didn't have to use prednisone at all?  That would be great.  I did try bovine lactoferrin, which made his fur as soft as silk but didn't seem to help his poor mouth.  I am encouraged to try this new regimen, much appreciated, Brenda!

Simms is a carrier but knock on wood, no symptoms to speak of at all.

I am so glad that Sophie is doing so well.  You know don't you that she is our (the list) cat also?  :)  She is a real miracle kitty.  Happy Simms is doing well and send prayers for Jimi's stomatitis to be cured.

My diabetic kitty, Little Boy, had stomatitis and it took trial and error to get it in remission.  I used daily L-Lysine, CO Q 10 - 30 mg., Metronidazole, George's Aloe Vera (1/2 water, 1/2 Aloe) and Antirobe.  It took several months, but it worked for over the last year of his life.
