Yeah.. if he is an older kitty, thyroid might be it.. but I have one kitty, whose name is OB – and he has a similar problem with Kitty Boy,, (he is an older kitty, too) – all the blood work came back normal including thyroid.. but he kept getting skinny and losing hair.. no one knew what was going on…

Someone suggested to do the testing created by Alfred Pretcher, DVM (if you are interested in – I can send you a like) which can identify the problem and treat with natural (or non) steroid..)

Anyway,, for OB.. I recently have given him a homeopathy remedy called Sulphur by accident – and he looks better now all of sudden.. again I don’t know what was wrong with him… but I consider it to be a miracle.

The first step is a whole panel of the blood work to see what’s going on – would you post it here if you get it?  I am curious of his condition personally.

Hi

I am posting this for a friend who rescues in Florida - she sent me this message

"I have a cat, Kitty Boy,  who is VERY skinny!!  He hasn't been playful either, and I know there is definitely something very wrong!!  He's always hungry!  His belly is big in comparison to the rest of him!  I mean, when I pick him up, I can feel his bones!!  Yesterday and today more than ever, he's been following me around and crying for food.  I've tried not to feed him as much as I had been.  It's like he's starving!  Sure would like to know if you've ever seen this before."

I suggested she needs urgent bloods for Kidney, liver, Thyroid, FIV & FeLV and test for wet form FIP- I personally am suspicious of thyroid but said that it can be lots of other stuff or maybe even cancer.

Don't know how old this kittie is but have asked her to let me know.

I also told her not to cut down his food and to give him more to avoid fatty liver - and if he is lethargic and burning calories faster than he can take in then he needs more energy going in.

Has anyone got any thoughts or further comments on this one?
