I know our clinic will do low cost bloodwork, provide poss. diagnosis & refer to one of the vets that does low cost vet work for shelter......   Please try to encourage your friend to seek vet help ASAP, because there are just too many problems that this poor cat may be going thru...  And, it will take a VET to make accurate diagnosis. Self-diagnosis & self treatment can be just as harmful as NO TREATMENT, and as I already stated, depending on WHAT condition(s) the cat has, can also be detrimental.   Good Luck, Patti
