In an alternative medicine, fever is not
necessarily considered to be such a bad thing.. it’s a symbol of how a
body is trying to deal with the illness – but western medicine, we
try to remove the symptoms immediately without treating the cause.. I have
had cats who have had viral infections and the fever goes over 105 (and I had a
couple of dozens of them for over the course of years) ----as long as I
supplement with hydration and nutritional supplement ( if they are not
eating). I usually let it run its course.. and they will go down in a few
days.. I don’t use antibiotics because it does not treat the illness, but
it only further weaken their immune system. Again, fever is not a bad
thing.. though low fever is considered to be really bad,, as it means that body
does not have enough energy to deal with the problem.. Instead, I have given them homeopathy to
ones with fever and I had tremendous success with them. From:

when Ginger's fever kept coming back, I did Immuno-regulin, which initially
made it go up to 106 for an hour, which was scary, but then after the second
dosage of I-R 3 days later it broke completely. Michelle In a message dated 10/26/2005 9:33:18
