1. Immuno-regulin can be used on any cat, and be used for nonregenerative anemia. I would guess that it would be less likely to work on nonregenerative anemia, but I don't think it would hurt.  Epogen/Procrit might help with nonregenerative anemia.

2.  The donor cat is never put at risk by the condition of the donee, because the cats do not have any contact.  The donor cat just gives blood, like we do at the Red Cross, and the blood is put into a bag which is later used to give the donee a transfusion.  If a vet denies a transfusion to a cat because the cat is FeLV+, it is probably because cat blood is in short supply and the vet is making the call that the positve cat is not likely to survive anyway so why waste the blood on him.  My postive Simon got 3 transfusions, so a vet who denies based soley on positive status is, in my opinion, a jerk.

Would the transfusion even be successful for
Non-regenerative Anemics?

I have heard of veterinary hospitals (including
emergency clinics) literally denying a transfusion
because the anemic cat was FeLV positive.

Is that true?
