ok I  know I have been out of rescue for quite a while ....I have a adult negative cat with viral uri who has seen two vets in the past 48 hours and just busted out with a high fever 104 and dehydration.....sub Q now while typing but what do you suggest to break the fever ? anyone?
Rubbing alcohol - Saturate a cotton ball w/ rubbing alcohol and dab it on all four paws, and behind ears.
When my Meisha's temp. was so high the thermometer wouldn't even register, I called vet & he told me to do this immediately.
I did & when we arrived at vet's (hour drive away), her temperature had gone down to 103, still high, but at least it registered.
Again, a viral thing.....
