Hmm, that doesn't ring a bell, it was some more general argument I heard. Anyway, that gives me 2 reasons to wait and see now.
Can't tell you how much expensive wet food I've thrown away. And I've never seen stray cats--only rats--in my neighborhood, so no one to give it to who migjt appreciate it. Kerry

Subject: Re: Off topic, but I have a food question

I've been trying to switch my brood over to better quality canned for a while too.  They just don't like it.  My Ursula refuses anything but dry, the only "wet" food she'll eat is people tuna, sometimes I can get her to eat turkey, or chicken, but that's it.  Everyone says to mix in minute amounts of the "good stuff" a little at a time, but the noses rise in the air whenever I do that.  Sigh.  I do get tired of buying cans of food at a $1 or more a can to feed to my dogs!

As far as arguments against EVO.  I read that the rosemary in it, (I'm pretty sure that's what it was), is not suppose to be good for cats.  What's a cat mom to do?

I'll be interested to hear helpful responses to your Q, Sandy----unlike mine, for I'm just replying in sympathy! I have similar problems with *wet* food---neither my positives or negatives are particulary thrilled by any of the flavors of the (high-quality) Wellness wet food I offer them. Like kids, given the chance (which they're not) they'd much prefer to eat junk wet food (and--I suppose I should be grateful-- the Wellness dry that they're addicted to). When, on vet's advice, I cut right down on the Wellness dry in a bid to get them to eat more Wellness wet (goal being to reduce the carb intake & risk of obesity/diabetes that's on the increase--my neg Tiger is overweight) the two negs who did NOT need to lose weight each lost 2lb. Not what I had in mind. I don't worry too much about my positives' addiction to the dry---I'm just glad they love it and eat scads of it -- they blow hot and cold on the wet.

Cats it seems would rather starve than eat something they don't like.

Q to group----are there any arguments against EVO---I have this nagging feeling I read something on the list that put me off. I'm thinking of trying to switch mine to it to get a better balance of carb/protein. (Yeah, I know--good luck, right?!)
