Your vet said pepcid was not available in a tablet?

No doxy, as far as I know.  Wish there was.  That's one med that seems to be the most effective for one of my guys.  The best my vet can do is compound it.
(And, I know that it wasn't available when I ordered for the shelter.)
But the clindamycin, gosh, we've had the injectable at the shelter for as long as I can remember.  I think I might still have a vial around here, I'll try to dig it out so I can tell you "who" the mfg. is.  It is bugging the heck out of me...I ordered it ALL the time.  I have a mental picture, I can see the white box, turquoise lettering, the little vials w/ orange top, Cleocin Phosphate....
But, for the life of me, can not remember the mfg.  And, we ALWAYS got the same brand, it's not like there are tons of the generic injectable.  (Must be menopausal memory...)
I am sorry your vet wasn't aware of this.
It reminds me of that whole "discussion" about metronidazole and pepcid - I KNOW met IS compounded for oral use, and I ordered the generic oral famatodine all the time, but that one vet kept saying, "No."
Sometimes I think, if they are not doing the ordering & talking to the reps., some vets really don't have a clue what's available now since they graduated vet school.  Frustrating...
Please know, I am keeping your Bailey in my prayers.  I am praying for the best for Tuesday...
It's so true. On this list, we feel as if we "know" everyone's furbabies, we go thru so much, together.
What a strong bond this marvelous group has.
(I'll try to dig up the inj. cleocin phosphate for the name...)
Hugs,
Patti
