No, I hadn't heard of that before. I did use a homemade bedwarmer,
(cotton tube sock filled with rice and then microwaved). I'm not sure
he appreciated it. He did better in the bathroom than he did in the
crate, (what an understatement!), so I'm going to try that again
tonight. He just can't get the same level of health care as my other
cats that get to snuggle with Mom when they don't feel well. When I
brought Pistol Pete, (who turned out to be Pistol Peta!), home from
being spayed last week, she was having a difficult time, shivering etc.
I took her to bed with me, snuggled her in and she immediately fell into
a deep, restful sleep. I wish I could do that sort of thing with
Starman. :(

Have you tried a snuggle safe (hard plastic filled with a fluid).
Microwave one, put it in a towel on whatever he sleeps on and it will
stay warm for about 8 hours. It is reusable and available in pet
stores and on the internet.
