Marlene,
I am sure you will do what is right. I've been anemic my entire life it seems. I've gone in for checks when they wondered how I was walking, had to get my rbc (I think it was) up above a 7 to have surgery, etc... I don't keep up with my own 'stuff' as well as the cats'. lol.
Don't give up on Pekoe. Anemia's hard for positives, but many people on the list have done a good job of managing it and putting it back in its place. Especially considering the hemobart. If Pekoe had that and responded to the doxy before I truly think that might be all you're dealing with here. I hope so! Hang in there!

Nina,Thanks so much for the prayers and encouragement. My mind is finally "functioning" again somewhat after everything today. I too just can't fathom that Pekoe's platelets are so low, and yet he's still more or less himself????? I looked up Digby's last blood work that he had done the day he passed, and his platelets were 7! Mind you, he actually had full blown leukemia and deteriorated very quickly, so that's not really the same as whatever may be going on with Pekoe. Am just trying to stay focused and praying for the strength to do right by Pekoe.Marlene(Pekoe & Angel Digby)
