Subject: [Special_Needs_Rescue_Cats] Geriatric Sanctuary Wanting FeLV Info

I brought back a 17 yr old DSH from the MS coast this
week-end & she has tested POS... She appears in EXC
health & is just a purr bucket. Her lifelong senior
feline DSH that came with her tested NEG. They have
lived together for years & howl when seperated. Right
now I have them in a large stand up cage in their own
BR. They will have free access tomorrow.

PurrEver Ranch is a geriatric sanctuary & I hadn't
planned on taking any POS kitties in at this time due
to $$$ but I refuse to euth this kitty & need advice.

I want to retest her in 12 wks but is she shedding the
virus at this stage in her life? What precautions
should I do besides the obvious to ensure the health of
my other rescue elders? I guess I just need
reassurance that I've done the right thing & that
everything is going to be okay.

Thank you very much,
