Chemo and stronger steroids sometimes make them feel like themselves within a day or two, even after feeling as bad as you describe.  It may not work, as it does not always, or it may work for a few weeks only, but it could work for a while.  You should join the lymphoma list serve at http://groups.yahoo.com/group/feline_lymphoma.  They are very helpful, and there are a lot of intestinal lymphoma survivor cats on there.
