i think it's the NAME that does the damage--i was told that it was named in the late 80s, early in the HIV panic..... people insist upon calling it feline AIDS (when it neither is transmitted nor manifests itself like HIV), and people just react to the word....

 

that any vaccinated cat will forever test positive doesn't help anything, either, of course.....

as hideyo said, you really can't trust a snap-test result--across the board on snap tests, we had a 40% false positive rate at the sanctuary....
