Good question! I have not heard of any home test kits. The only quick test that I knew of was the IDEXX Snap test that most vets and shelters have on hand at their facilities. It is too bad that the shelter that you have been working with will not help! The rescue group that I work with helped me to qualify for the IDEXX Snap test program. This way my "partner in crime" and I could purchse the IDEXX Snap test at a discount rate and test anywhere we want. We order the IDEXX Snap test kits from a veterinary supply company. We did have to open an account with the veteriary supply company. The Shelter Director had to fill out portions of the paperwork. Also, one of the veterinaries that we work with helped us by filling out the other portion of the paperwork. It was a real pain in the ass!! Pardon my french! It was well worth it in the end! We also end up ordering the IDEXX Snap tests for Giardia too. This test can be done anywhere as well!
