A lot of us were in your situation (fostering with a shelter/rescue) when we found out one of our fosters was positive.  I went through a terrible time because my own cats' shots were not 'up to date'.  It was Christmas and my vet was telling me to get the positive cat out of my house NOW!  It was horrible.  But it all worked out.  It will work out for you too.  My positive lived to about 7 years old and NO ONE ever 'caught' it from her.  She was with another kitten, too.

I would get everyone vaccinated and try to calm down. It may be that even your positive will revert to negative.

I think of it this way now....... EVERY stray or shelter/rescue animal you deal with 'could' be positive.  You can have them test negative, but then it turns out they had so recently been exposed that it didn't 'register' yet on the test.  I think the group you're with should start vaccinating for felv for that reason, but if you've been mostly separating the litters and your own cats it is highly unlikely they will get leukemia from this one litter.  And some of your own cats could actually be positive right now and you just don't know it.  Most people only test once as a kitten or when they first bring in a new cat.  That one test is not truly 'negative' unless it's repeated in 90 days or sometimes even more.

I'm sorry, I know how scared you are, but your description of them all bolting for the open door brought a smile to my face.  The little scamps are just so darn cute!

You said "these are kittens, and they do get out". Did you mean "they don't get out"?
Sorry - when I said they get out - I meant get out of their ISO room (my bedroom). They all try to run out when I open the door, etc. They have never been out of my home other than in a carrier.
