Make sure they pay attention to his HCT, many CRF cats are anemic and many are on epogen.

Fred was anemic but once we got his thyroid regulated he went back to being normal, his CRF got a bit worse but still not too bad. Once he gets his dental, and his thyroid is completely stabilized (it takes about 3 months after treatment so we have a month and a half to go), I'm hoping that will get better too, although one kidney is a little smaller than it should be so it will probably not go back to being normal. Apparently Fred's anemia was due to his hyperthyroid, not the CRF.

Your friend has really done wonders with Morris and he sounds like a real sweetheart.
