Hi, Kerry. Glad to know he is holding his own. I would definitely start him on the IR as soon as you feel comfortable taking him to the vet.  If you know anyone who can give IV shots, like a vet tech, you can do it at home-- I did that, because the woman who runs the shelter locally can give IV shots and came to my house.
