Subject: Re: Feliway spray versus diffuser

I'm sure we're over-kill on the amount we use... but when doors are opening and closing I figured it was better to have too many than not enough.  When you use them though you have to make sure you don't leave them plugged in when they're empty.... a friend told me that she has heard they can be a fire hazzard (great, something else to worry about!).

one diffuser says it covers 650 sq feet
our apartment is a bit over 900 so I have one in the hallway (midpoint of apt) and one in the master bedroom next to the 2ndary litter box (added for Smoky's comfort and convenience)

We do rescue so we have a lot of cats come and go... and we swear by the diffusers.  It takes a while for them to work and the change is very subtle... but when our big boy Rudy gets nasty, my husband and I look at each other and say "The Feliway is out!" and sure enough... 99.9% of the time it's empty.  So, it may not work on every cat... but we sure have seen a difference with ours.  We have 10 of them plugged in for 3000 square feet... so you have to be sure you have enough coverage.  Feliway and ComfortZone are the same thing... and the refills are interchangeable so I would look for which is on sale... I buy them at www.biovets.com usually....

Thanks again. A thought--- I've seen more than one listmember say the spray is the one to get, not the diffuser (never the other way around). Any thoughts on that?
I need it to *work*!

pricewise, I'd appreciate it.
Thanks!
