interferon and immunoregulin

1)  Someone in our cat rescue just called me and said that there was 
some recent research indicating that constant dosing with interferon 
alpha can possibly cause the bone marrow to reduce the production of 
red blood cells.  She said this is the justification for doing the 7 
days on/ 7 days off protocol - rather than the daily administration.

Has anyone heard of this?

2)  Also,  does anyone know anything about using interferon at the 
same time as immunoregulin?  Such as whether to do it or not?
