It's not characteristic FeLV, just characteristic of intestinal problems like IBD and intestinal lymphoma (though lymphoma affects positives much more than negativces).  My cat Lucy has IBD (inflammatory bowel disease) and when she gets diarrhea I can smell it from across the house.  You should talk to your vet about figuring out if it is IBD.  Some vets want to do an endoscope to find out.  I just treated Lucy for IBD-- raw diet and prednisone-- and when she got better and I was able to taper her off the pred I knew it was IBD. IBD can turn into intestinal lymphoma, which I am always worried about.  I think it may be the inflammation that leads to lymphoma, so I try to stay on top of her flare-ups and treat her with prednisone whenever she flares up.  Others have combatted IBD with diet and homeopathic remedies, including Nina on this list.

Hi Everybody,

I found Lola two months ago.  She's around two years old and is leukemia positive.  We retested her and it came strong positive.  At one point she had bad diarrhea and when I switched her on Innova she was better.  The only thing is that her poop stinks very bad; wakes us in the night every time she uses the litter box.  Do you guys experience the same thing with your cats?  The other two that I have and that are negative are fine; the usual smell.  Lola's poop now is half diarrhea half OK, and the smell is getting worse.  Sorry for all this "smelly" info, but I was curious if it's just her or it is something characteristic FeLV positive cats.
