I am sure you have had lots of replies to this already, as I have been offline with kitty problems for the past week and a half and am just getting caught up on reading the posts.
I am not sure what the strength is of my 6 month old kitten's interferon A, but it only costs me $7.00 for 10 little frozen vials. I follow the 1 week on, one week off protocol, I get 2.5-3 doses per vial, so use 3 vials in a week (throwing the extra bit out as it won't keep unfrozen for more than a few days). I have found that my kitten does seem to feel better when on it, and worse when off (especially the first 2 days), but I think I read somewhere that interferon itself can contribute to anemia, and that the one week off was to give the blood cells time to regenerate. I am new to this, as is my vet, I'm sure others have probably had good experience with the every day protocol, but since this is working for us so far and even his withdrawal symptoms are mild (just a very slight fever), we are sticking with it for now.
