Max seems to be an awfully popular pet name right now! I didn't name mine that, she came to us already named at age 8. We thought she was a boy for her first 5 years here, told her she was a good boy all the time, told the two (now departed) dogs they were good girls. THEN, we had a blood test done and found out she was a girl. I got the news in the mail, read it to her, and all we heard from her for the next month was "I'm a GIRL????" I know she couldn't possibly know what that meant, but it was so cute. Too funny what your husband taught his to say about his sister. They learn swear words so much faster than anything else. I have tried to teach mine to say "Water" for 8 years so I'll know right away if she's emptied her bowl with a bath. She won't even mumble it. But I say "Oh shit" once when I drop something and she immediately adds it to her vocabulary and uses it appropriately. Go figure.
