I don't know enough about the internet and how all this stuff works, but it seems like there must be a way to do searches through software to locate specific animals listed as lost.  Perhaps someone could start a lost/found site that would not only list, (I guess they'd have to charge for lost posts and not for found, just the way the newspaper does), but would also have the capability of doing this kind of search.  I don't know how much work would be involved in something like that, keeping up with all the different web sites, if they'd need permission to search them for "found" ads or not.  I'm sure with the right know-how it's possible.  Anyone have a whole lot of time on their hands to dedicate to something like this :-) ?

That's terrible!!!  It was confusing enough just trying to get two pets listed, I can't imagine what you volunteers went through trying to find multiple pets... I did like the "MissingPetsNetwork", they have some sort of tie to the USDA, nicely organized by state and easy to use.  Too bad someone just can't say "OK, this is the one, bye-bye all you other lists."  But, I guess some of the lists have commercial links that would make it difficult to get rid of them, and others just want to help in anyway they can.  Too bad the pet community can't come to some sort of consensus about this, or get some kind of bill passed to help.

Take care,
