first, i really want to thank everyone who responded to my previus "one question". i read them all, and i hope the new subject line is specific enough :D
also, i want to correct something. i guess i was quite misleading in my previous post. my vet didn't refuse to vaccine my cats against FeLV directly. he asked if they've been kept indoors all the time and stuff like that. at that time i didn't get Prince yet, so indeed there was no risk at all. he told me better not give them that vaccine after confirming the above with me. then when i took my other 3 cats to get their blood test done, he told me the results were negative for all of them, but i'd better repeat the test after some time since they were exposed to a FeLV+ cat.
actually i like my vet a lot. one important reason why i like him is that he's very rigorous. every time i challenge him
with something, he can always find evidence from the literature to back up his opinions. i'm a ph.d. student in science, and i respect literature/data as much as he does, so usually i cannot be convinced unless i see the original research report. but this time it's somehow different. i just feel bad when i heard that there is nothing i can do. i really want to do something to help the poor kitty.
and, i did take some further steps. the university where i'm studying has a wonderful vet school and animal hospital. i already made appointments with them. after i get their advice, i'll compare it with the information from this website, and i'll share with u if there is anything new.
thanks again!
