Hi Mark,
Unfortunately, I don't have any photos or film of Sammy's feet and she passed away several years ago at the age of 22 (close as we can figure, she was a rescue, her neck was actually bald from the collar she'd been tied up with).  The vet who did her spay and her declaw was a butcher and I would love to reciprocate; to this day I get angry thinking about what was done to her.  Some kitties have little hangy flaps of skin in front of their thighs, completely normal - she had drapery.  As for her front feet, all of her front toes were gone.  Completely.  All she had left were the little peninsulas of skin her toes had been.  Amazingly, I never saw any sign that she had phantom pain or problems walking/running and she never had any bathroom issues until her spinal arthritis advanced to the point she couldn't feel when she had to go.

What was done to her is the main reason I'm against declaw; the other main reason is the video and xrays on the Paw Project site, which reinforced my negative feeling.

I don't know how much this will help, but more information is almost never a bad thing:)

Subject: (OT) Anyone have cats with botched declaw jobs? Seeking material for documentary.

http://www.handicappedpets.com/Articles/declaw/index.html

Handicapped Pets is working with Jennifer Conrad, from the Paw Project, and Willow
Evans of Kaleo Productions to produce a documentary for the Paw Project showing the
damage that declawing does. If you have ANY cats that suffer from their botched
declaw amputations (or if you have pictures, photos, or compelling stories of one you
had in the past), PLEASE go to the link above and submit them to the project. They
are not only looking for crippled cats, but also for cat in diapers due to severe
litterbox avoidance due to declawing.

This is a wonderful opportunity to get the message out there, please help by
submitting your photos and videos.

PLEASE CROSSPOST TO ALL CAT RESCUE GROUPS!

Contact Info: Please email your high resolution photos and movies, along with your
name and address (so we can send you the form) to [EMAIL PROTECTED] .
We're looking for photos, movies, and stories that illustrate the dangers and damages
of declawing cats.

Thank you all,

Phaewryn
