I just got this note from one of my friends that brought the feral colony up to live with me: I took 2 of my cats for check ups this evening...the vet found a breast tumor in my 9 year old Maine Coon. She's having a mastectomy tomorrow...I just came home and looked it up on the internet and I see that 85% of the time it's malignant....please say a prayer for my baby girl...she's my first cat and she's so smart that sometimes I swear she must be part human....I can't believe this is happening...she doesn't like to be brushed or have her belly messed with so I didn't know she had a growth....once the doctor showed me where it was, I felt it immediately....I feel so bad I didn't find it. Her name is Renee, and her cat's name is Emily. Please send good vibes, prayers, etc for Emily! I told her she should join this group, since so many people here have gone through the cancer thing. I know breast cancer is a different kind than usually comes with FELV, but it's still cancer... Maybe we could add Emily to the CLS service for next week??? Phaewryn
