If you're not happy with this vet, you should look for another one. I still haven't found a GP I'm happy with! There's no reason for it to cause trouble for your partner, (what's her name?), just don't bring your animals in there anymore. They probably won't even notice that you're not coming in with them. There's nothing wrong with seeking a second opinion (which they'll know when you have records transfered). Keep it cordial, you might have a better chance of them prescribing/recommending things over the phone than a vet that doesn't know you. Don't let yourself be held hostage for "political reasons" when caring for your babies.

I'm happy to hear that Bandit is doing better. How long has it been since he's had a bowel movement? Now that he's eating better, he should grace you with one soon. I must have missed it, how old is he?
