At the same time, the cat was given feline omega interferon according to the
following

protocol: subcutaneous injections at a dose rate of one million units per
kilogram

bodyweight (1 MU/kg b.w.) per day for 5 consecutive days on D0, D1, D2, D3,
D4,

repeated on D14 (i.e. 2 weeks after the start of treatment), D15, D16, D17,
D18, then

repeated on D60 (2 months after treatment), D61, D62, D63, D64.

The case describes an adult cat infected with Feline Immunodeficiency Virus
in the

clinical phase, presenting with the classical symptoms of stomatitis and
anaemia. The

progression of the case outlines the relevance of feline omega interferon in
the

therapeutic management. Therapy consisted of a 5-day course of 1 MU/kg/day

administered subcutaneously and combined with symptomatic treatment. The
animal's

quality of life improved markedly.
