Kimber,

Hello from Texas. I am sorry that Hannah has tested
positive for FeLV, but don't start worrying yet. Even
if the test is correctly positive, it's possible she
will throw the virus off. About 40% of cats do. I
would wait, as Phaewryn said, and retest with the IFA
in 3-6 months. If she is then positive, the two most
important things you can do for her is to feed her a
good diet, and keep her stress-free. Make sure you
keep us bookmarked, in case she gets sick, and your
vet starts saying things like 'it's time to think
about putting Hannah to sleep'. There have been so
many strides in medicine, that often that is
completely unnecessary. This is the best place you
can be if she is FeLV.

I am curious to know how Hannah got worms if she's
indoors only? How does the vet think she them? I
thought worms had to come from outside sources, like
ingesting fleas? I guess it's possible you might have
brought a few fleas in from outside on your shoes.

Many kitties who are positive live a long time, so I
would not worry at this point. Just keep doing what
you are doing, and keep an eye on her, as I'm sure you
were already doing.

:)
