I am heading for bed, but I just called a friend who
is a HS volunteer. He was working with them to find
homes for 4 feleuk+ cats. He said Scooter was an
orange tabby? Right now he has no info, but the cats
were housed in a room near the cattery.

This morning they found a cat sitting on top of the
rubble. Later today they discovered a black kitten
peeping through the rubble. Later a large gray one
came running out of the woods and sat where his cage
had been. He was VERY hungry! These 3 are fine.
That brings the total to at least 11 who have
survived. 4 of the survivors are in critical care, and
the local vets have all chipped in with supplies. The
other cats that did survive have all been adopted by
volunteers saying they will never be in a cage again

The young fireman who was hurt did not leave when the
command was given. They ran through the cat area
opening cages, then smashing windows and breaking open
doors trying to shoo them out. He went back in the
last time to grab 2 puppies, and the roof caved in on
him. I will tell you how to contact him tomorrow.

Fire started in the dryer. Word is that either lint
caught fire, or the timer failed and it overheated.

Never leave a dryer on when you're away!

Will keep you posted.
