I am forwarding this message from the Feral Cat list. Does anyone here have any more information on the use of Cobra Venom?

Cobra venom. I have a call in to my vet for more clinical details since my knowledge is basically they were injected for 30 days for one and 30+ for the other and now test negative. I just got word today that the vet tried it on a calici cat that had been resistant to antibiotics and symptomatic care and in 4 days the symptoms were gone. I also found out that I was wrong on the cost - a bottle costs around $150 (depending on the area and supplier) and will treat 2 adult cats for the 30 day FeLV protocol so $75 per cat and that is nothing when you consider how much some illness treatments cost.
Thanks,
Dawn
