Panleuk will kill within 7-10 days tops. If the shelter vaccinated the momcat while she was nursing, that can explain a lot. That can hamper milk production and bring on a uri that was dormant before. I usually go straight to zith when dealing with shelter uris, maybe zith and clavamox if it's really severe.
