My fellow rescuer/friend just called me to let me know an organization in Chicago will take in all of our babies with the momma. They have a whole room dedicated for FeLV kitties and right now it is empty...My friend was so happy about this but I am kind of mixed and I not sure why...they will do all of the medical stuff and will try and find homes for them...so financially we are now much better...I guess I just wanted to find them "homes", not a shelter. I should be happy but I am just sad they aren't going to have a family to love them right away. The lady from the shelter really wants us to remove the 2 week old baby and start strictly bottle feeding as well as removing the babies that are older because they are almost weaned anyway. since the 2 week old wasn't hers she felt she had a better chance of being negative, but there is no way for me to do that...I work 10-12 hour days plus I don't any other rooms in my house to put them in... I just want them to have great lives and I am sure this shelter will provide that for them until a family is found... In one way I think this was a blessing that we had this happen because like you guys know most are PTS if they have this diagnosis, but now we have educated ourselves to know it doesn't have to happen and we know what to do next time we encounter it...
