I know I am in the minority here and I am certainly not urging you to let your little friend suffer. Please talk to your cat though. My mother is operating on less than 20 % of her lung power on a good day, refuses to use oxygen the way she should and certainly is not suffering. I know people who are a lot worse off than she is and they are not suffering either. They are definitely not comfortable a lot of the time but there is a real difference. What I am urging is that you talk to her and ask her what she wants and needs to finish her journey and to give you both peace.

And that is my wish for both of you------------peace in heart and mind at this very hard time. While you are talking to her, tell her it is ok to leave this world. That you love her most dearly and will miss her but that you will be ok and want her to visit you. Sometimes our little friends stay here because they know how much we will hurt when they leave and fear we will not be ok. They, like people, need permission to leave and assurance of love.

Blessings to all in your family.

Cassandra, as hard as it is you have the power to end your babys suffering. When they are in respiratory distress they are suffering, they can't be comfortable,,,just try breathing though a very thick piece of material your self and get an idea of how it might feel, I had to do it twice the past 6 months with cats I dearly loved, i fought long and hard but when they were suffering and there was no real hope it was time to be strong and show them that I would take the pain for them.

Thanks,

I think Kisa is mainly in God's hands right now, but the waiting is so hard.

I cannot imagine how tired and stressed you must be. I wonder if the sudden loss of her 'housemates' has been an assault on Kissa's immunity. She is on her own path and you are doing everything you can to support her. She will let you know.
Take care of yourself.
