Everyone has heard my two surgeries from a feral cat bite that broke a
finger----to the astonishment of the head hand guy at a major teaching hospital
in the area. He put me on Doxyclin 200 mg twice a day or 100 mgs four times a
day depending on how my stomach was doing with the meds. This is a relatively
inexpensive antibiotic and I try to keep some on hand just in case.
If you have men who will
exclude any of God's creatures
from the shelter of compassion
and pity, you will have men who
will deal likewise with their
fellow man.

Subject: Re: OT- Cat bite, what do i do
My bite was small, but my hand swelled twice its normal size. I soaked it in
hot water with epsom salt and alternated with hot water with peroxide. I
soaked it as much as I could and would put peroxide on it and neosporin when I
finished. It swelled up my arm, but after about 2 weeks it started to heal. I
did not have a rabies cert. for this feral cat, so I felt I couldn't go to the
doctor.
good luck.

I was trying to put Nod in his carrier for his dental today and
apparently he didn't want to go. It isn't a terrible bite, but it did
break the skin. He is current on his rabies. Do I wait and hope it
doesn't become infected?
