Annie could of been FeLV+ since birth. My six were. Sissy and Rocket have socialized very well with my other house kitties. Daisy's four babies are outside in a cat enclosure. I am hopeful I can find forever homes for them. Stress can cause a cat to become symptomatic. Good food and a low stress environment seem to be key in keeping them healthy. Sharyl

Homie got her first shots shortly after i got her. that was 2 or 3 weeks before Annie. i really hadn't planned on either one, i had Snuggles who was 19 with kidney failure and i felt new cats coming in would upset him too much. he finally lost his battle with kidney failure 1 week after father died. father was not a cat person, but Snug started sleeping on foot of his bed last july when he started getting bad. every time father called me or rang his bell, Snug came into my room and made sure i got up and came to him. he would walk ahead of me, stop and meow, then go a few feet more. once i got to father, he jumped on bed and settled down. plus i was spending 24/7 taking care of my father who was 92. Homie's owner was just going to dump her because she was too much trouble. couldn't have that, so took her in. she worked out with Snuggles ok. then vet called and said they had a lady dying with liver cancer who had a cat that was always inside and slept on her bed. had to find her a good home or would have to have her put down. well, i took her, of course. she had been locked up in the lady's trailer for 21 days with someone coming in am to put out food, water and change litter box. no human contact otherwise. she was so stressed out when i got her and she fought with Snug and Homie. just slaps and hisses, but no love there. don't know if was stress or lack of socialization with other cats. getting better, only 1 incident per day now. day i found out she was positive was day i took them both in for shots.
