I can't tell you much about the seperation part as I only have the one cat, and have never had one before this one. I just want to put in my 2 cents for the idea that FeLv+ cats can live very happy lives. I have one that I've had for 2 years. he may get sick tomorrow, and he has been sick with a few things over the last 2 years but he's a happy kitty that wouldn't be here if I hadn't taken him in or had put him down when the first vet told me to.
