i know that there have been some recent studies about cats developing
antibiotic resistance that directly contradict one another--winn feline
foundation reported on one sometime last year, you could check out their
blog at www.winnfelinehealth.org; they may have also been the ones who
reported on the second study.

i know that one of them showed that there has been NO increase in antibiotic
resistance in cats re: one of the more common drugs (an amoxi compound, i
think), which was VERY heartening. i'm sorry i don't remember the details; i
quite probably sent the link when i got it and it's hiding in the archives
someplace, but that's the one i know came from winn.

do a search for something like, "antibiotic resistance in felines" and see
what comes up--my answer to most things!
