It's frustrating to discover your cat is using the wall instead of her
litter box. After you've taken her to the vet and she's gotten a clean bill
of health, you can make it impossible for your "vertical pee-er" to mess up
your walls. 

There are several high-sided litter boxes on the market, but a storage tote
is a cheap and effective solution. The high sides will keep kitty's urine
off the walls and floor, and stop litter from going all over the place when
she digs.

Here are some simple instructions on how to turn a 25-gallon storage tote
into a litter box:
