Thank you, Lee, for your words. We have a sanctuary for Felv+ cats.
Yes, each cat is a joy and I do feel blessed to have been able to have spent
time with each cat or kitten.
I do cry and mourned each death.
However, I do know that every cat gets to live out their natural lives, no
matter how long or short.
Sometimes I feel I can't do this anymore, but when I get a new call or email
about a Felv+ cat, I know it is probably their only chance to live out their
natural life.
I, too, have found that if a kitten is born positive they usually don't make it
to one year.
There are always exceptions.
I just lost my beloved Penelope at eight years old and she was born positive.
She got cancer in her spine and it finally took her. Her mother lived to be at
least ten years. So they graced this earth for a longer time than usual.
Right now we are full and the cats are doing well. We get awhile where
everyone is good and then 1-3 go across the Rainbow Bridge.
Thank you again, Lee, for your words.
