Thank you everyone for you input. We never entertained for a second the thought of euthanizing Tickles. My vet thought I was crazy for taking him, but he's not the only one. ALL life deserves a chance. We live in a disposable society and many believe if something isn't perfect, it's a waste of time and should be destroyed. People, you are not perfect. We will get Tickles re-tested. Again, I would like to thank you all for your help and advice. It is much appreciated. :)

I'd certainly have him retested. He may well be free of FelV by now.
Many cats throw off the virus as they have strong immune systems.
