I found an orange female at work a little less than a year ago. She was on
the verge of starvation, with just about every bone in her body visible. She
was 4 paw declawed & had a spay scar. She was also missing one of her
canines, so between that & the declaw, she couldn't catch anything to eat. I
took her to the vet & she was given sub-q fluids & was put on A/D. We own
two places, so she was able to live at our other place where she wouldn't be
exposed to my FIV+ cat. All my cats have been exposed to FIP as well, so I
didn't want to take any chances. She was adopted by a friend of mine about a
month later & the friend is now living in our other place,so Sunny got to
keep her new home. I had reported her to the humane society, but no one ever
claimed her. She is a rather reserved kitty, but very loyal to her human.
She now has a blue point Siamese sister. This was a great success story b/c
the friend who adopted her was not into cats, but has now been converted :)
