Hi everyone -- Now that I've gotten 50-something messages and see that the list is actually still up and running, thought I'd update y'all on my Smoochycat. Been back and forth to the vet a few times.....the epotin doesn't seem to be giving his bone marrow the kick start we had hoped. His spleen is still wrapped around his body and is quite tender. I'm never sure why he purrs anymore....whether its because he feels good, or because he's in pain and comforting himself (I've heard that cats who are hurt or sick do that). But at least he is eating. We have settled on 1/4 tablet of valium every 12 hours. Still taking the prednisone every other day, and this week he's on the interferon. Have talked to the vet briefly about Pam's recommendation of giving the interferon every three days instead of seven days on, seven days off, but its kind of like the periactin with her.....she hasn't heard of doing it that way, and prefers that we stick with what she has always done with felv cats. May talk her into giving it a shot, however......the valium dosage was my idea, and she said if it worked better for him, do it that way. The past two or three days, Smoochy is eating about a can of Fancy Feast a day....sometimes more. Joe reports seeing him nibbling out of the dry kitten chow bowl throughout the day. Still drinking plenty of water. He seems to have more energy now....he's actually been playing with his fishing pole some lately. He "helped" me frost Joe's birthday cake the other night...helped himself to a couple of little bites of the frosting, actually. Does anyone have any suggestion for anything we can do to stimulate his bone marrow and/ or try to reduce the size of his spleen? Thanks for all of your help so far, and any more ideas will be greatly appreciated. Hope all of you and your kitties are doing well. Thanks, Anita P.S. Jesse, by the way, is still doing just fine, rambunctious as ever, and Duncan, who is still living with Joe's sister, is thriving. He is due to go the the vet to be neutered on the 9th. __________________________________________________ Do You Yahoo!? Talk to your friends online with Yahoo! Messenger. http://im.yahoo.com
