Sherry,
It's so nice to know its not just me. This vet would have let me save
the kitten even though he strongly disapproved - if it had been my
kitten. Since it belonged to someone else, I am not to know the name of
the client or anything about the client's animals. I'm sure even if I
could have convinced him to call her, he would have told her the kitten
had a broken back and was suffering and advised her it needed to be put
down - after asking her if some bleeding heart cat lover could try to
save it and make it suffer more. The kitten lapped up KMR and tried to
clean himself. I don't think he was in any pain to speak of. I'm sure
the vet was delighted it wasn't mine so I couldn't save it. After all,
he's the expert and what do I know is probably what his thinking was.
I've disregarded his cynical opinions in the past and taken my own "hard
cases" to a much more expensive vet further away and pulled them
through. I only use him anymore for cheap routine office visits and
medications. Don't know as its even worth that anymore. I've earned
the trust of the vet who gave me the euthanasia med. to administer to
Silver and I can get meds. from him. He also gives me a discount but he
charges the usual big city prices so my visits will be limited pretty
much to those I can't treat myself. Diana
