Does anyone have any other ideas for my FIV positive, Lucy, running a fever for about
2 weeks now, low at first but now high, even on Orbax (the new broad-spectrum
antibiotic in pill form once a day). I added Biomox yesterday twice daily, that seems
to have had a slight effect, and began SQ fluids yesterday, too. Her daughter, Maya,
whom I lost at 9 mos., also ran chronic fever during the last few weeks of her life
that would not go down even with heavy doses of Baytril. Lucy has no apparent URI or
other symptoms except very slight ocular discharge. Maya went blind in one eye at the
end, but Lucy's pupils seem OK and no conjunctivitis or inflammation, and gums are
better than they ever were, so it's not that. She is on interferon, and is quite
chunky, but has not eaten since Friday because of the fever (I'm now making her eat,
plus supplements etc.). Any other ideas?
