Hi Everyone,

Thanks so much for the warm welcome and all the great advice. It's very encouraging to
hear so many positive stories.

I spoke with my vet this afternoon and she agreed to put Chloe on interferon
immediately. I think what some of you have said is true -- my vet simply hasn't dealt
with this virus before and doesn't know what to do. I thought it amusing that she
called a specialist in Texas to find out what we should do for Chloe, and that the
specialist told her to just give Chloe interferon --which is exactly what everyone on
the Internet already recommended!

After Chloe begins taking her medication this week, I'm going to start looking for a
new vet. If anyone has any recommendations for a vet who's worked with FeLV kittens
before in the Washington DC area, please let me know.

Also, many of you have mentioned that your cats are one week on/one week off
interferon. Is that to keep them from building a resistance to it? The research I've
read about interferon seems conflicted about whether the cat should take it all the
time, or only every other week.

Thanks again for all your support. I feel very relieved right now,

Vikki
