Rebecca: Also, my kitties did not have the runs at the time I saw them
scooting, but did have "matter" left on their behinds. They did have worms
around this time, but I'm not sure if it was related to that. They have
been treated since then for worms.

Rebecca: I have had kitties drag themselves across the floor after using
the litter box. I think they do it when they feel something is clinging to
them and they don't want to clean it with their mouths so they drag as a
form of wiping. Actually it's kind of cute, but not so sanitary.

Subject: OT-scooting

Hey, guys!

Our handsome black kitty, Mr. Cinders, whom we adopted a couple of months
ago, has developed a weird thing: he potties (and it's quite runny and not
at all normal looking recently), and then scoots across the floor on his
rear, like he's trying to wipe or something. He was checked for worms and
treated for them when he was neutered and had a brief stay at the vet's. He
also tested negative for FeLV, thankfully. I'm just concerned about the
change in potty habits and the scooting. Has anyone had anything similar? Do
you guys think I should get it looked at, or could it just be that he's
overeating as a throwback to his days of dumpster-diving (I'm also wondering
about coccidia, but I think he was treated for that - or some other tummy
problem - at the vet's when he was neutered)? I mean, he sometimes eats like
crazy when food's put down. He has 5 roommates, and I'm wondering if maybe
he's just getting too much rich food (Hill's C/D is what I feed them) in his
tummy at once from trying to scarf down everything in sight.

Any thoughts on this? Thanks, all!

Rebecca and Mr. Cinders
