Pam-

I corrected myself in a subsequent post to Mimi, I meant to say Andy tested
positive on Elisa 5/99.  Sorry!  :)  That is when I first found out.  He
tested positive on IFA 4/18/00 (I found the invoice for that too, believe it
or not!)  I have not tested him since, nor do I plan to.  As you said, his
chances of converting are slim to none.  Less than 1% is what the vet said.

I had Tiesha before Andy.  I don't remember how long, but she was pregnant
when I found her (just barely showing) and her kittens were about 2-3 weeks
old when I got him.

Tiesha's name... here we go!  My sister teaches 6th grade (one of her
students brought Andy to school in her backpack so her mom wouldn't take him
to the pound- told that story a million times!).  There was a girl in her
class named Tiesha and that is how she spelled it.  This kid wore about a
million of those cloth hair scrunches on her 1 inch long ponytail, and one
day my sister's hair was hanging in her face so she borrowed one of Tiesha's
many colored scrunches (Teal blue).  Well, we had this little black cat whom
we hadn't named yet.  My friend who found her was calling her "Midnight"- now
that's original- but I didn't want to leave it that.  So anyway, she went
NUTS over that thing and carried it everywhere.  Like some of you were saying
earlier, she put it in her water bowl, would fetch it, etc.  So my sister
would always ask her "where is your Tiesha scrunchie?" when she saw her.  The
name just kind of stuck.  It was cute b/c she told Tiesha (the girl) what we
had named our cat and she looked at her very strangely and said "is it
because we are both skinny and black?"  I just about died laughing!
Honestly, that never came into the thought process! :)  So that's how her
name came about.

She, Miss Mouse, and her kitties tested negative 5/99 at which time the vet
did not educate us about the 90 day time period you should wait after
exposure to get a test.  After finding this list, they got tested again.  I
was home for my wedding and tested them the day before, so I remember the
date 9/24/99.  All tested negative again.  Tie tested negative again,
according to my sister, when she got vaccinated last June (2000).  We are not
testing again!  I also keep in contact with the kittens (3 different
households) and they are all negative and healthy.
