As for the beagle, they are total sweethearts. Good luck finding him a home!

We are allowed to have pets in our apartment, the original lease said 2
only
and only up to 35 lbs. When we renewed last August, the pet clause said
"left to management's discretion." I still think they would flip if they
knew I had 3 cats. So in short, since we have 3 cats I don't think we
should
have this beagle but I have no where else to take him for at least 2 weeks.
Our neighbors have a female beagle and one lives on the other side of the
complex as well.
As for the howling/baying, he only does it when he hears sirens. Which is
also a bad thing since we live right next to an emergency clinic w/an
entire
fleet of ambulances! One goes by at least 3 times a day. He only howls if
he is outside and only for a couple of minutes. He is not as noisy as most
beagles I have known. His voice is very soft.
He just went to Petsmart w/ me to get a Litter Maid and everyone asked if
he
was a humane society dog. All the employees know me from adoptions. He is
a
real lover and got lots of attention so I don't think he will be difficult
to
place. Also, in his crate he will whine like any dog, he doesn't do the
beagle howl then! He is seeming to be content to sit on our balcony which
is
HUGE and we put indoor/outdoor carpet on it. I also bought him a squeaky
elephant toy today which has kept him occupied.
He really is a good dog, just not meant for apartment living.
